My name is Kurt Hagemeister. I'm a husband, father and craftsman.
The seed for Chisel Works was first planted when I met my wife, Miranda. We had this crazy determination to blaze a new trail that led us to make our way across Canada to the Okanagan Valley and build a life together. That was almost 20 years ago.
Today, we are fortunate to have two spirited boys and our life is a joy-filled adventure in a community we love. I've been building things out of wood and metal since I was 10 years old. It started with bird houses then furniture before I moved on to building airplanes and other construction projects. A change in career brought me back to my roots and Miranda encouraged me to do what I love for a living - handcrafting custom furniture and wood work for residential and commercial projects.
Chisel Works is about more than handcrafting custom furniture and wood work. It's a movement about creating, connecting and giving. It's our hope that what we build helps you create spaces to bring people together for family meals, writing and studying, reading and game nights, art and entrepreneurial projects, lego building and many conversations over coffee and tea.
It's about love, laughter and a whole lot of grace. It's about making memories and the healing power of nurturing connections.
Our mission is to handcraft quality custom furniture and wood work that inspires connection, respects the earth and gives back to community.
Everything we build is custom made to your desired shape, size and finishes with your choice of wood species using the most environmentally conscious products available.
At Chisel Works, we believe furniture should reflect your unique style and be built to last.
We love seeing our vision for Chisel Works come to life in a community that has blessed our lives in so many ways.
Thanks for being here and sharing the journey with us.
